Configuration with SAM Gateway Configurator tool

7.1  General

The 'Scan' button can be used to search the network for Ethernet devices belonging to the 
SAM gateway product group that are available and for the internal Ethernet interface in the 

TROVIS 5578-E Heating Controller.
UDP broadcast telegrams are used and prioritized for the search and configuration. This is 
necessary to allow those devices to respond that are not configured for the network subnet 

used by the computer. 'DHCP server' is activated by default in the SAM HOME Gateway. 

The gateway waits approx. 60 s after the voltage supply is connected before it assigns an IP 

address. If this is not the case, the device assigns an IP address for itself and any connected 
devices (e.g. laptop). This ensures that the gateway and laptop can communicate.
