Safety instructions and measures

Risk of fatal injury as a result of electrostatic discharge at the housing.
The housing of the Media 7 device is made of polycarbonate and may become electro -
statically charged when handled improperly. An electric spark generated by electrostat-
ic discharge may lead to ignition of a potentially explosive atmosphere and cause
death.

Ensure that the device, cables and other plant components cannot rub against each
other.
Î
Do not rub dry the housing surface of the Media 7 device.
Î
Only use a damp cloth or wipes (e.g. with diluted mild soap or detergent) to clean
the housing surface.
Risk of bursting in pressure equipment.
The dp cell of the Media 7 device and pipelines are pressure equipment according to
Directive 2014/68/EU. Improper opening can lead to leakage or bursting of plant or
device components.

Before starting any work on the Media 7 device, depressurize all plant sections con -
cerned and the dp cell.
Î
Drain the process medium from all the plant sections affected as well as the dp cell.
Î
Wear protective clothing as specified in the material safety data sheet (MSDS) of the
medium used.
