4 INTENDED USE
NEX are process type pumps and designed to handle clear fluids
or liquids containing a small amount of particles.
NEX pumps are used in harsch pumping applications where
reliability is set as a priority.
Many variants of materials and shaft sealings are available to
meet industrial needs : transfer of acids and chlorides, pumping of
alcaline medias, solvents, various applications in waste treatment
plants, …
5 DESCRIPTION
5.1 TYPE KEY
Pump description is engraved on pump name plate. It gives
a general description of pump design. The nameplate is
attached to pump bearing bracket.
Description of a NEX pump is created as follows :

5.2 TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
5.2.1 MATERIALS

Material

Casing : cast iron (EN-GJS-400-15) or stainless steel (AISI 316)

Casing cover : cast iron (EN-GJS-400-15) or stainless steel (AISI
316)

Shaft : steel (BS970-31991) sleeved or stainless steel (AISI 316L)

Impeller : stainless steel (Duplex ASTMA744 Gr. CD-4MCu)

Bearing housing : cast iron (EN-GJS-400-15)

Steel shaft sleeve : stainless steel (AISI 316L)

Sealing

Casing seal : flat gasket fiber base type Klingersil C8200.

The NEX pump is a modular designed centrifugal pump intended
to handle almost all chemical products. Pump is fitted with a
mechanical seal or a gland packing. Various sealing arrangements,
friction faces and O’Ring materials are available. Check material
description in the acknowledgement of order.
5.2.2 PERFORMANCE AND OPERATING
LIMITS
5.2.2.1 TEMPERATURE
Maximum ambient temperature : +40°C.
Minimum ambient temperature : -20°C.

PRESSURE
Nominal pressure of pump is 16bar.
Maximum permitted working temperature should be adjusted
according material used for casing.
Pressure inside the seal chamber:
Pressure inside seal chamber is equal to the sum of pressure at
seal (from the applicable chart below) plus suction pressure.
Ensure to check the seal minimum and maximum pressure
limits are not exceeded.
