 Verify that the hoistway above is clear and that there are no 

overhead obstructions.

 Verify that load is no greater than the rated capacity of hoist 

[5500 lb (2,500 kg)].  Reduce load if necessary.

 Push in the emergency stop button on the pendant and wait 

until the sounder is no longer audible.  Switch the unit on again 

by turning the 

RED

 emergency stop button clockwise until it pops 

out.
