Installation

3.1 

System Design

3.1.1  General
Systems shall be designed to limit free fall, swing fall and maximise fall clearance. Where 
possible, systems should be installed as close to the centre of the ladder or climbing zone as 
possible. 

The V-Line Vertical Lifeline shall be installed on an angle no greater than 15º off vertical.

3.1.2  System Selection
To install a V-Line Vertical Lifeline , top and bottom brackets, support fixings, cable guides 
and cables need to be selected from Figure  2 to Figure  6.

3.1.3  Structure Capacity
The supporting structure and fixings used shall be capable of sustaining the load cases in 
Figure  7 and Figure  8 where applicable.

 

All load cases shall be considered by a trained engineer.

 

The below cases represent the standard installation configurations, specific 

installations may require additional load case investigation.
