Description of Design 511 (Full Protection Configuration)
This design type should be selected for applications where extended protection (full
redundancy) is required. Two interconnected Phoenix G2 IDUs are in use on each side
of a link in this configuration. It supports following Radio Duplex Modes:
Bidirectional
- full duplex link with Tx and Rx channels
Tx Only
- half-duplex/simplex link with only Tx channel, automatic ACM
function should be off in this mode
Rx Only
- half-duplex/simplex link with only Rx channel, automatic ACM
function should be off in this mode
Above mentioned radio modes can be combined with following functional modes:
Split 1+1
- full protection mode which uses one physical channel on each
PhoeniX G2 IDU, two IDUs must be used at each side of the link
o
FD
- frequency diversity configuration with frequency separation in both
physical channels
o
SD
- space diversity configuration with single Tx channel and two Rx
channels and two antennas in both directions
o
HSB
- hot standby configuration with single Tx channel at a time and two
Rx channels in both directions
Split 2+2
(TBD)

Data Encryption (AES) settings
If AES encryption is contained in device license, it is recommended to configure also
this feature at the beginning of whole system setting. Enter valid AES key and then
select AES function on/off. The same setting must be done on both sides of the link.
Incorrect setting (non-identical keys or AES on/off mismatch) causes an issue with
the modem synchronization.
