3.5 OPERATION, ADJUSTMENTS AND MAINTENANCE
3.5.1 GENERAL STANDARDS

WARNING
Before attempting to carry out any work on the electronic equipment, all the operators must:
- make sure the electronic equipment cannot be accidentally started up by shutting off all the power supplies
(electrical power, air supply, etc..) with personal locks (for example pad locks) stamped with the name of the
maintenance worker who put it on;
- remove the keys to the locks and personally hold on to them.

WARNING
Never use the electronic equipment if any of the safety devices are malfunctioning under any circumstances.
Immediately shutdown the electronic equipment cutting off all the power sources.
Start the electronic equipment only after all the safety devices function efficiently.

To assure top electronic equipment performance and proper and safe operation, routine maintenance must be
performed at the intervals and in the modes specified by SACMI.
In particular, regularly check all the safety devices for proper functioning. Also check the insulation of the electrical
cables, replacing them if necessary, and make sure the ground connections are effective.

Some safety devices may have to be temporarily removed or made inoperative to carry out certain maintenance
operations and/or to adjust parts. Always put these devices back into place after maintenance and/or adjustments
have been completed before attempting to start the electronic equipment.

The electrical control cabinets, like the junction boxes on-board the electronic equipment contain parts that may be
live.
Specific tools need to be used to access. Only qualified personnel authorized to access live parts should be given
this tool.
When the electrical cabinet is energized, qualified personnel can only re-arm the protective devices for the electric
circuit.
