2.1.1.6.1 Cameras and lenses
The model of the camera and lense installed along with their configuration varies according to the application and
machine version. Further information regarding the cameras and lenses is given in the enclosed documentation and in
the customization documentation, as indicated in chapter 1 - GENERAL INFORMATION, paragraph ATTACHMENTS.
2.1.1.6.2 Lighting units
The lighting units can be of different types which basically depend on the product inspected and on the specifications
of the product to be inspected.
As a general rules the lighting units used can be classified in relation to technology and shape.
According to technology, leds and stroboscopic white lighting units are used.
According to shape, front light units, diffused light units and oblique light units are provided.
Technology and shape are freely combined for each case, so as to obtain the best light.
In LED lights, either white or red LEDs are used to light up objects.
The diffused light is used to reduce reflections; however, it tends to hide defects like abrasions, scratches, and any
surface irregularity. For this reason oblique light is used, together with front light, to stand out these surface features
when required. These lighting techniques are combined in shape, technology, and relative intensity, in relation to the
physical and geometric features of the objects to be inspected, so as to obtain the best result: the image with which
the vision system better identifies defects in regular situations.
The emission intensity of the lighting units can be adjusted via software: when several technologies and shapes are
provided, light emissions can be balanced so as to obtain the best image.
