with alcohol, do not place them near open flames or other dangerous materials.
During the operation of equipment, the internal temperature of CO
2
sensor can be up
to 150°C. The sensor should be cooled sufficiently before cleaning. Do not use highly
alkaline or corrosive detergents. Stainless steel is corrosion resistant but cannot
completely prevent corrosion. Do not use sodium hypochlorite (bleach) solution as it
may also cause dents and rust.
5.2 Clean the inside of incubator
1)
Remove the horizontal shelf, access port filter assembly, HEPA filter and
connection lines, and vertical plates.
2)
Wash the horizontal shelves and lines with disinfectants, and rinse them with
sterile water. Shelves and pipes can also be autoclaved.
3)
Clean the inner door gasket with disinfectants. The door gasket can be removed
for cleaning or be replaced.
4)
Wash the inside of incubator with disinfectants and wash it from the top down.
See the disinfectant instructions for necessary disinfection time before washing.
Both the inside and outside of inner door should be cleaned. The cabinet and
doors must be rinsed with sterile water until all disinfectants are cleaned. Spray
70% alcohol after rinsing the incubator chamber.
5)
Install the vertical plates, inner door gasket, access port filter assembly and
connection lines, and spray them with 70% alcohol.
6)
Install horizontal shelves and spray them with 70% alcohol.
5.3 Clean Cabinet Exterior
Dissolve a mild detergent in water and wash the outside of incubator with a wet
sponge or a soft and dried cloth. Dry them with a soft cloth.
5.4 Clean the
inner door
(glass door)
You can clean the
inner
door of incubator chamber with the same disinfectant used
for cleaning the inside of incubator. Rinse the
inner
door with sterile distilled
water to remove residual disinfectant. Then dry the
inner
door with a soft cloth.
Precautions for cleaning and maintaining the
inner
door of incubator:
Moisture leaches alkaline substances (sodium or Na) from the surface of glass.
Evaporation of water will cause the alkali concentration and may cause white
contamination or turbidity on the glass surface. Using of a chemical cleaner with
a pH value above 9 and heating (autoclaving) will accelerate the corrosion
process. Therefore, it is important to rinse and dry the
inner
door after cleaning.
