The A-MSS is an A-BUS
hub that pr

A-BUS technology is a new
, innovative method of pr
oviding high quality audio
to r
emote locations with a single 8-conductor cable such as CA
T-5.
A-BUS technology pr
ovides many advantages over other methods of audio dis-

ol of the optional A-KP2 amplified keypad

Every A-BUS System is comprised of components fr

: The Module contains both the amplifier for the

ol for those speaker
s. One Module
should be used for each r
oom you choose to contr
ol. The Russound A-KP2
Amplified K

ceiver) is an example of an A-BUS
Amplified Module.

Connect a set of RCA patch cables to the line-level output on the
back of the sour
ce component. Connect the other end of the RCA
cables to the A-MSS sour
ce audio input, keeping channel identity
consistent. Connect up to four ster
eo line-level audio sour
ces to
the A-MSS in the same manner
.

system.
IR Emitter

Connect an IR emitter (such as the 845.1) for each sour
ce to each
of the corr
esponding IR emitter output jacks on the A-MSS. Adher
e
the other end of the emitter over the IR r
eceiver on the fr
ont of
the sour
ce component. The IR signal that is r
eceived thr
ough a
zone’
s A-KP2 is r
outed thr
ough the A-BUS hub to the A-MSS com-
mon IR outputs. This allows r
emote oper
ation of the sour
ces con-
nected to the A-MSS sour
ce audio inputs.
A-BUS Output
The A-MSS must be connected to either the “input” connector on
an A-H4P A-BUS hub or to the “Link In” connector on an A-H4 or
A-H2 A-BUS hub
. The A-MSS cannot be used with an A-H4D
because the A-H4D does not have a Link In connector

cable with RJ-45 terminations using the T568A standar

anteed for two (2) year

chase against all defects in materials and workmanship. For this warr

Signalling Connector
The 3-pin connector pr
ovides both the 12VDC output trigger signal
and a local contr
ol IR input signal. Use the “12VDC T
rigger output”
and “GND” pins to pr
ovide a 12VDC trigger out signal when you need
to activate accessories such as the ACT
-1 outlet. The output will be
pr
esent when the A-BUS system is active. Use the “Sig” and “GND”
pins when you need to connect a local IR r
eceiver (such as SaphIR
Eye) to r
epeat local IR signals to local IR emitter
s. The IR signal on this
input will be combined with the IR signals sent to the A-MSS over the
A-BUS link connection and will appear on the “IR Emitter
s” jacks.
