10.3 GENERAL WORKING INSTRUCTIONS 

 

Felling of a tree 

1.  Decide  the  cutting  direction  depending  on  the 
wind,  tree  inclination,  the  position  of  heavy 
branches,  the  degree  of  difficulty  after  cutting  and 
other factors.

 

2.  As  you  release the  area  around  the  tree,  make 
sure you have a good foothold and an escape route. 
3. Make a notch of a third of the size in the tree on 
the falling side. 
4. Make a cut on the opposite side of the notch and 
at a slightly higher level than its base.

When cutting down a tree, make sure you warn nearby workers of the danger.

1. 

Decide the falling direction taking into account the wind direction and speed, the 
tree inclination, the position of heavy branches, the position after the fall and other 
factors.  

2. 

While cleaning the area around the tree, make sure you have a good foothold and 
an escape route. Make a notch of a third of the size on the falling side. 

3. 

Make a cut on the opposite side of the notch and at a slightly higher level than its
