5.3 CHAIN TENSIONING CHECK
Check the correct tensioning of the chain by pulling it up at the middle of the chain bar. It
must resist to this action, and the chain spurs must protrude about 1-2 mm above the guide
bar. See Fig. 11.
Fig.11
CAUTION
! If the spurs do not protrude out of the guide bar, the chain is too tight. If the chain
does not resist and protrudes very easily above the guide bar, the chain is not sufficiently
tensioned.
CAUTION!
Excessive chain tensioning leads to premature wear of the guide bar due to the
high friction force between the rail and the chain. If the chain is too weak, there is a risk of
user injury due to the chain jumping off the guide bar when using the chainsaw. Tighten the
chain cover nuts with the provided key until the key is hard to turn.
CAUTION!
The tightening torque is approx. 15-20 daN. Excessive tightening leads to tearing
of the stud bolts in the engine crankcase and damages the retaining threads.
6. REFUELLING
6.1 MIXTURE
CAUTION!
1. Petrol is flammable. Avoid open fire near fuel. Stop the engine and let it cool
down before refuelling.
2. RURIS engines are lubricated with oil specially made for 2-stroke air-cooled
petrol engines. If you do not use
a class API TC oil
or a higher class, during the
warranty period, you risk losing the warranty.
Recommended mixing ratio: 1 l 25 ml 2-stroke oil. Gas emissions are controlled
by the parameters and the fundamental components of the engine (e.g.: carburation,
ignition coordination, muffler)
3. These engines are certified to operate on unleaded petrol.
4. Be sure to use petrol with a minimum octane number of 95.
5. Lead-free petrol is recommended to reduce air pollution in order to protect the
environment.
