Place the chainsaw in a horizontal position. Move the chain (use appropriate protective
equipment) linearly along the chain bar from one end to the other in one direction to make
sure the chain is perfectly positioned on the bar guide, see Fig. 9.

5.2 CHAIN TENSIONING

Tension the chain with the tensioning screw in the direction shown in Fig. 10.

At each full turn of the tensioning screw, move the chain linearly to make sure the chain is on
the bar guide. Continue turning in the direction shown in the previous figure until the chain is
tensioned on the guide bar.
