3. Configuring The Static MAC Address Table
Static MAC addresses are usually configured when the user wishes to enforce port security (if
supported).
Static MAC addresses must also be configured for devices that are able to receive but not able to
transmit frames.
Prioritized MAC addresses are configured when traffic to or from a specific device on a LAN segment
is to be assigned a higher CoS priority than other devices on that LAN segment.
To add a MAC address, go to the static-mac-table menu and enter the Edit Private mode. Click on Add
Static-Mac and then use the Key Settings form to add a new MAC address. MAC Address and VLAN
ID are the keys. Enter other relevant parameters in the Static MAC Address Parameters form.

If MAC addresses have been configured, Static MAC Address Parameters forms will appear under
the static-mac-table menu. To access the forms, navigate to switch/mac-tables/static-mac-table/{mac
address}.
Once a statically entered MAC address is discovered on the network, additional information about it will
be visible via the Static MAC Address Table (static-mac-table):

To display the Static MAC Address Parameters table, navigate to switch/mac-tables-static-mac-table.
