Link Aggregation Commands
Link Aggregation Commands configure multiple network cables/ports in parallel to
increase the link speed beyond the limits of any one single cable or port, and increase
redundancy for higher availability.
lacp
Specifies ports to be added or removed to/from an LACP group. Also specifies the LACP
key and mode.
Command Mode: Global Configuration
Syntax
[no] lacp <LACP-key> <port list> <mode>
Description
■
<LACP-key>
- Specifies the LACP trunk key.
■
<port list>
- Specifies a list of port instances; ex. <1/[1-2] or 1/1, 1/2, 1/3 or 1/[1, 2,
3-5]>.
■
<mode>
- Specifies the LACP mode as active, passive or manual.
■
no lacp <LACP-key> [<port list>]
- Removes port instances from an LACP group.
LACP Mode Description
Active LACP negotiation on without conditions.
Passive LACP negotiation starts when LACP packets are
received from peer.
Manual Manual link aggregation settings.
Example
!Sets port 1, port 2, and port 3 as link aggregation ports. LACP key
is 10 and mode is active:
Switch(config)# lacp 10 1/1,1/2,1/3 active
Switch(config)#
!Sets ports 10 through 13 to be link aggregation ports. LACP key is
42 and mode is passive:
Switch(config)#
lacp
42 1/[10-13] passive
Switch(config)#
