MAC Authentication with an External RADIUS Server

To begin using MAC authentication:

Ensure that a RADIUS server is configured in ZoneDirector (

Configure > AAA 

Servers > RADIUS Server

). See 

Using an External AAA Server

.

Create a user on the RADIUS server using the MAC address of the client as both 
the user name and password. The MAC address format can be configured in 
one of the following formats:

•

A single string of characters without punctuation: aabbccddeeff

•

Colon separated: aa:bb:cc:dd:ee:ff

•

Hyphen separated: aa-bb-cc-dd-ee-ff

•

All caps: AABBCCDDEEFF

•

All caps hyphenated: AA-BB-CC-DD-EE-FF

•

All caps colon separated: AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF

Log in to the ZoneDirector web interface, and go to 

Configure > WLANs

.
