The Dialnorm instrument can calculate and show Dialnorm values from its
digital input signals. Dialnorm is used in ﬁ lm sound mixing and describes
the normalization of the dialog loudness level (dialogue normalisation)
with respect to a certain reference monitoring level (–31 dBFS in sur-
round applications).
