3.2 | Signal Sources and Synchronization

The TouchMonitor TM3-3GS units each feature an input connector for
digital 3G-SDI signal sources. This and the several output connectors are
described in the

2 | Installation

chapter in full detail. Selecting the deem-

bedded active audio signal input for the current measurement is done by
selecting an appropriate preset. With this functionality it is very easy to
switch between several audio signals included in the SDI data stream.

For the TM3-3GS‘ factory presets stored in the unit by default, all
input assignments are described in the

4 | Presets

chapter.

If, on the other hand, your unit holds individual presets that were
created by a system admin, the administrator will provide you with
the appropriate input assignment information. Also, the preset names
could be used to designate the audio signal path used by a preset.

Digital Inputs

TM3-3GS units each feature a digital 3G-SDI input (BNC) for sending
3G, HD, and SD-SDI signal sources to its integrated 16-channel 3G-SDI
deembedder. The deembedded 16 audio signals are provided as AES3
signals, 8 of them can be displayed at the same time. Allocated to two
presets all audio signals may then be monitored.

Synchronization

The TouchMonitor TM3-3GS units handle the typical sampling rates (48
kHz, 24 bit) of audio signals included in an SDI data stream. It synchroni-
zes automatically to the connected SDI input signal .
