The HPSU compact is designed to be low-mainte-
nance. No corrosion protection equipment is required
(such as expendable anodes). This means there is no
need for maintenance work such as changing the pro-
tective anodes or cleaning the inside of the storage
tank.
– Check the filling level, if necessary replenish water.

Service and maintenance
●
Dismount the protective cover (see section 7.2).
●
Carry out a functional inspection of the HPSU compact, as
well as all installed accessory components (backup heater,
solar installation) by checking the temperature display and
the switching states in the individual modes.
●
If a ROTEX solar system of the type Drain Back
is
connected and in operation, switch it off and empty the solar
panels.
●
When operating the HPSU compact in a bivalent-alternative
system; switch off all heat generators and deactivate the
bivalent control unit.
●
Visual check of general condition of the HPSU compact.
●
Visual check of the water storage tank level (filling level
indicator)
Top up the water if necessary (see section 7.5), deter-
mine the reason for the low water level and remedy it.
●
Check the connection of the safety overflow and drain hose
for leaks, free drainage and gradient.
If necessary, clean the safety overflow and drain hose and
relay it; replace damaged parts.
●
Visual check of connections, lines and safety pressure relief
valve. In the event of damage, determine the cause.
Replace defective parts.
●
Check all electrical components, connections, and cables.
Repair damaged parts or replace them.
●
Check the water pressure of the cold water supply (< 6 bar)
if necessary the fitting or adjustment of the pressure
reducer.
●
Check the system water pressure on the controller RoCon HP
of the HPSU compact.
if necessary top up the water in the heating system, until
the pressure display is within the permitted range
(see section 7.4).
●
Clean plastic surface of HPSU compact
with a soft cloth and
mild cleaning agent
. Do not use cleaning agents containing
aggressive solvents, as this will damage the plastic surface.
●
Refit the cover (see section 7.2).
●
Servicing of the external unit and other heating components
connected to the HPSU compact should be carried out as
specified in the respective associated installation and
operation manuals.
●
Complete the confirmation of servicing in the supplied
operating manual of the HPSU compact.
7.4 Filling and topping up the heating system
DANGER!
Water can come out of the automatic bleeder (fig. 7-3,
pos. 6) during filling, which can cause electrocution if
it comes into contact with the power supply to the
3-way switching valve.
●
Do not carry out any work in the area around the
3-way switching valves during the filling process.
WARNING!
Polluted domestic water is hazardous to health.
●
When filling the heating system prevent any back-
flow of heating water into the drinking water piping.
1.
Connect the filling hose (fig. 7-3, pos. 1) with backflush
prevention (1/2") and an external pressure gauge (on-site) to
the KFE cock (fig. 7-3, pos. 2) and secure from slipping using
a hose clamp.
2.
Close the ball cock heating circuit (fig. 7-3, pos. 3).
3.
Disconnect the electrical plug connection on the 3-way
switching valve (3UV1) (fig. 7-3, pos. 5) from the valve
actuator (fig. 7-3, pos. 5.1).
4.
Click the hand lever (fig. 7-3, pos. 5.3) on the 3-way switching
valve (fig. 7-3, pos. 3UV1) into the middle position (only
possible when de-energised).
The centre position is on stable, when the 3-way switch
valve has not power. The 3-way-switch valve unlocks
automatically, when the voltage at the drive motor for
the valve position AB-A is applied (storage tank
charging).
In order to ensure complete venting, the 3 way switch
valve should be unlocked by inserting it one hour after
system start-up at the earliest.
5.
Open the water cock (fig. 7-3, pos. 4) in the supply line.
6.
Open KFE cock (fig. 7-3, pos. 2).
7.
Fill the system with water until a system pressure between 2.5
and 3.0 bar is reached on the external pressure gauge
(overpressure valve may not trigger).
8.
Close KFE cock (fig. 7-3, pos. 2).
9.
Open the ball cock on the heating circuit (fig. 7-3, pos. 3)
again.
10.
Switch on the power supply of the HPSU compact.
11.
Turn the rotary switch to the operating mode "Heat".
HPSU compact runs in the hot water heating mode after
the start phase.
12.
During the hot water heating mode, continuously check the
water pressure at the external pressure gauge. Where
necessary, refill with water via the KFE cock (fig. 7-3, pos. 2).
