Changing sensors
If a sensor or connecting cable is faulty, it can be changed as an individual component, provided that it is not grouped together
with other cables on the control panel via a plug-and-receptacle connection that cannot be released. The cables of internal
components are connected to the relevant circuit board connector; this connection cannot be released. However, the associated
cables can be plugged onto the relevant component, so that the component or the cable can always be easily changed without
the need to perform complicated reconnection work.
With the exception of the storage tank sensor, faulty internal sensors can be changed without opening the control panel. External
components (e. g. external sensors) or components that are not included in the scope of delivery as standard (e. g. mixers) are
connected to connectors via screw terminals.
5.4.1 Changing flow/return flow temperature sensors
Flow sensor
1.
Open the housing of the electric heat generator unscrewing the two screws on both sides (Figure 5-10 a).
2.
Remove cover, upper heat insulation, and lateral heat insulation around the sensor (Figure 5-10 b and Figure 5-10 c).
3.
Pull the cable off the flow sensor (Figure 5-10 d).
4.
Unscrew and replace the sensor from the heat generator.
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
Return flow sensor
1.
Pull the sensor cable off (Figure 5-11).
2.
Remove insulation of the return flow pipe.
3.
Unscrew and replace the sensor.
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
The sensor plugs are form-coded. Do not force the connector
DANGER!
Danger of death due to electric shock.
Live parts can cause fatal burns or injuries on contact.
• Before starting any maintenance work on the central unit, disconnect it from the power supply (switch off
fuse, main switch) and secure it against unintentional restart.
WARNING!
There is a danger of scalding from heating water.
flow and return flow temperature sensors are connected directly to the pressurised heating water.
• Close the ball valves at the boiler flow and boiler return flow before removing the sensor. Release the
system pressure using a hose connected to the KFE valve and ventilate.
