Notes on Flying Keys
Note the following important points regarding the
Fly Key
function:
•
If a key is processed using
Fly Key
but its
size
is not reduced, the image can be
repositioned without
any picture degradation
— other than the fact that the picture is
reduced from 10 bits to 8 bits.
•
You can wipe or dissolve
inside
a flying
Preset Pattern
key by using the standard
re-entry function on the
Key Bus
.
•
You can program a flying key to
move
from position to position, using an effects
dissolve. Refer to the section “
” on page 8–22 for details.
•
If you are flying
both keys
in an MLE and you need to adjust the one that is
not currently
active
, simply press the
KEY PV
button to activate the desired keyer. If the key type is
preset pattern, pressing the
PST PATT
button again automatically selects the
Squeeze
& Tease Menu
, and also selects the XYZ position on the
Positioner
.
•
To clear the flying image back to default values, press the
CENTER
button in the
Positioner Group
.
Self keys
,
Auto Select
keys and
Chroma
keys clear to 1:1, with no
manipulation.
Preset Pattern
keys clear to the upper left corner (for
Key 1
) and the
upper right corner (for
Key 2
).
•
Use the controls in the
Positioner Group
to move two flying keys simultaneously.
Simply press
FLY KEY 1
and
FLY KEY 2
simultaneously, and use the
Positioner
in
the normal way.
•
To use a preset pattern key without the Fly Key mode, press
FLY KEY
to disable the
mode and display the
Preset Pattern Setup
menu
•
If
PST PATT
is already on and the Fly Key mode is off, pressing
PST PATT
again will
not
automatically enable Fly Key. This feature only works when you
change
to the
Preset Pattern mode.
•
If
FLY KEY
is enabled, pressing
SELF KEY
,
AUTO SELECT
or
CHROMA KEY
automatically turns the Fly Key mode off and changes to the selected keying mode.
Operating
Tip
For a more visually interesting scene when using
S&T Mode
manipulations, reduce the border size to zero, and place the resulting
image over a background video of your choice.
