Chroma Key Setup Menu — Shadow Adjustments
•
Use the
Shadow Clip
knob to adjust the shadow’s threshold.
•
Use the
Shadow Gain
knob to adjust the gain (softness) of the shadow.
•
Use the
Transparency
knob to adjust the shadow’s transparency.
Note
The default values for
Suppress Gain
and
Suppress Luma
should
be appropriate for the best possible chroma suppression in almost all
cases. It is
not recommended
that you adjust these two knobs for the
majority of chroma keying instances. Use
Suppress Clip
only to
select the desired hue rejection.
Operating
Tip
The
Shadow
adjustments allow you to extract a shadow from the
chroma key source itself — typically, the actor’s actual shadow that is
cast on the blue or green screen.
Note
If there are flaws and blemishes in the chroma key set’s background,
they will
also
appear as shadows. Normally, a superb set with careful
lighting is required for natural chroma key shadows.
