Wash Clip Menu
14. Use the middle and bottom knobs to adjust the horizontal and vertical wash clip.
Normally, washes have a smooth “flowing” appearance across the screen. The HClip
and VClip functions add an abrupt change that reverses the pattern flow at each
repeating point.
• Adjust
VClip
to change pattern flow for vertical transitions.
• Adjust
HClip
to change pattern flow for horizontal transitions.
Both
HClip
and
VClip
can be enabled simultaneously.
This completes the procedure for designing a wash color.
Notes on Creating Washes
Please note:
• The steps (as outlined above) for creating
WASH 1
and
WASH 2
colors are identical.
Either wash can be assigned to any of the five matte destinations.
• Each MLE stores only two wash color setups — one for
WASH 1
and one for
WASH 2
.
• When
WASH 1
or
WASH 2
is lit, the selected wash color is applied — replacing the
matte generator’s single color. When
WASH 1
or
WASH 2
is turned off, the matte
generator returns to its previous single color. If
WASH 1
or
WASH 2
is re-enabled for
the selected matte generator, the wash is re-applied.
Creating a Pattern Border Color
Use the following procedure to create a pattern border color:
1. Ensure that your preview monitor is set to the desired MLE.
2. In the selected MLE, press WIPE .
3. In the Pattern Control group, choose the desired wipe pattern, wipe direction and wide
modifiers (such as aspect ratio, border width, border softness, and border rotation).
Refer to section “
Pattern Control Group ” on page 6–2 for instructions.
4. In the Matte group, the MLE chosen in step 2 will be automatically selected, along with
the PATT destination button.
• Use the three Matte Color Knobs to adjust the color of the pattern border matte
generator.
• If desired, press WASH 1 or WASH 2 to assign a wash color to the pattern border.

This completes the procedure to create a pattern border color.
