Synergy Series Operation Guide (v18)

Pattern Control • 6–9

The following figure illustrates the MLE and monitor setup

after

the wipe.

Please note the following important points regarding wipes:

•

During the wipe, the

ON AIR

indicators at the end of both the

PGM/BKGD

and

PST

bus rows will be lit. This shows that

both

buses are contributing to the switcher output.

At the end of the wipe, after the flip-flop, only the

PGM/BKGD

ON AIR

LED will be

lit.

•

Wipe borders can be modified to be any matte color. Refer to the “

Matte Group

”

section for details.

•

When you select a matrix wipe from the

Pattern Selection Section

, the

Matrix Menu

automatically is displayed on the display. This menu is

primarily

designed for adjusting

matrix wipes, but it also allows you to “matricize” any

standard

wipe pattern. This

feature essentially turns any standard pattern into a matrix wipe. Refer to the
“

Matricized Wipes

” section for details.

Adjusting Matrix Wipes

You can adjust or

customize

a matrix wipe selected from the

Pattern Selection Section

Use the following procedure to adjust or

customize

a matrix wipe:

1. Ensure that your preview monitor is set to the desired MLE.

2. In the selected MLE, press

WIPE

3. In the

Pattern Control

group, choose the desired matrix wipe pattern. The

Matrix

Menu

automatically is displayed.

4. Press
