Synergy 1 and Synergy 100 Maintenance Guide (v16-S1)

In addition, the 

Recall Installation

Software Upgrade

This switch controls the ability to upgrade software 

from a storage device as follows:

Up

 — Software can be upgraded from a storage device, such as a floppy disk 

or USB key. Refer to “

Synergy 100 Software Upgrade

”on page 3-19 for 

instructions.

Down

 — Software can not be upgraded from a storage device. This is the 

default position.

Leave the 

Watch Dog Jumper 

in the default 

DIS 

(disabled or

) position.

System Reset Notes

Please note the following important point regarding the system reset function:

Note

Place the switch in the 

Up 

position when you want to restrict access to 

installation menus. For certain facilities, this setting is recommended 
once installation is complete.

Important

The rack frame stores all installation, personality, memories, and the 
current video state. The control panel keeps track of the current menu 
and the settings of all buttons. Resetting the frame changes the current 
video state. Simply turning the frame off, or loosing power to the 
control panel, will 

not 

reset the video state, because a frame reset has 

not been initiated.
