GPI Test
The GPI Test uses a graphical display of light bulbs to indicate which GPI inputs and outputs are on
or off.
Use the following procedure to test the GPI inputs and outputs:
1. If available, attach an appropriate loop-back connector to the
GPI I/O
connector on the
back of the frame. If a loop-back connector is not available, turn on one of the GPI
outputs as per the instructions in Chapter 9, “
Additional Installation Setups ” of the
Synergy 1 Installation Guide . Using a jumper wire, connect the active output to the
input you wish to test.
2. Navigate to the Frame Diagnostics Menu as follows:
• Press
HOME
(to display the Main Menu 1-2 )
•
MORE
(to display the Main Menu 2-2 )
•
Setup
(to display the Setup Menu )
•
Frame Diagnostics (
to display Frame Diagnostics Menu )
3. Press
GPI Test
to display the GPI Test Menu .

4. Select the desired GPI function as follows:
•
Prev
— Press this button to test the previous input or output as indicated on the
menu.
• Next — Press this button to test the next input or output as indicated on the menu.
•
All On
— Press this button to turn all GPI inputs and outputs on.
•
All Off
— Press this button to turn all GPI inputs and outputs off.
This completes the procedure to test the GPI inputs and outputs.
Note If you do not use one of the above methods to activate the inputs, the
system will only be able to do a partial test (only the outputs will be
tested).
