Getting Started • 31

Getting Started

The ACO-4500 can be remotely controlled over an ethernet link by a DashBoard client.

This chapter provides instructions for launching DashBoard and accessing the tabs and menus in DashBoard for the
ACO-4500.

General Usage

Keep the following in mind when using DashBoard to communicate with the ACO-4500:

• The ACO-4500 is always configured as a fixed IPv4 device using the menu system accessible on the front panel.
• The menu structure is System Setup menu > Network menu.
• The items to be configured are: IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway. Contact your IT Department to help set

these up.

• The controlling DashBoard client is expected to be on the same subnet as the ACO-4500.

Launching DashBoard

DashBoard must be run on a computer that has a physical wired ethernet connection.

To launch DashBoard

1. Ensure that you are running DashBoard software version 8.3.0 or higher.

2. Launch DashBoard by double-clicking its icon on your computer desktop.

Enabling a Connection in DashBoard

To enable DashBoard to communicate with the ACO-4500

1. Launch the DashBoard application on your computer.

2. From the Basic Tree View toolbar, select

.

The

New Connection

dialog opens.

3. Select

TCP/IP openGear Frame

from the provided list.

4. Click

Next >

.

The New TCP openGear Frame Connection dialog opens.

5. Type the IP address of the ACO-4500 in the

IP Address

field.

6. Type a unique name for the ACO-4500 in the

Display Name

field. This name makes the ACO-4500 easily

identifiable in the Tree View.

7. Click

Finish

.

8. Verify that the ACO-4500 is now listed in the Tree View.
