3.3.3 Custody Transfer
Applications
For Custody Transfer applications, API chapter 7 recommends a minimum of
one temperature element per 3 meters (10 feet) as illustrated in Figure 3-3.
Emerson Process Management/Rosemount Tank Gauging may in some
cases recommend even more temperature elements for Custody Transfer
tanks, depending on how the tanks are operated.

The position of a temperature element is measured from the Tank Zero Level.
