Defoliator

6.14.3.3

Automatic defoliator height adjustment "R-Trim" (optional)

R-Trim is an optional automatic defoliator height adjustment. The Micro-Topper comb

detects the crown height of the topped beets. A height profile is calculated from the

average values of these crown heights. The height of the defoliator shaft is constantly

adjusted to this profile. This prevents too intensive topping of the beet crowns, e.g.

when the beet crop changes from small to large. Furthermore, too large leaf stalks are

avoided when the beet size changes from large to small.

The automatic function can be set in 5 stages in the "Main settings" menu, "Attach-

ment" submenu, "R-Trim" line.

•

The automatic function is deactivated with the option "Off".

•

The automatic function is active, if one of the options "1-5" is selected. The higher

the selected stage, the greater the distance at which the beet leaves are cut off.
