How to Use the Multi-Carrier Continuous Wave Function
This section provides examples on how to use the multi-carrier continuous wave func-
tion in some general test cases.
To generate a test signal for testing the frequency response of a DUT
If the test case requires a signal for DUT testing, like power amplifier or filter with a
bandwidth of 80
MHz, proceed as follows:
1. Connect the DUT to the output connectors of the instrument.
2. Connect a suitable measurement equipment, like signal analyzer to the DUT.
3. Select "Baseband > Multi-Carrier Continuous Wave".
Set "No. of Carriers
=
81" and "Carrier Spacing
=
1
MHz".
4. Adjust further settings, e.g. trigger setting, as required.
Select "Multi-Carrier Continuous Wave > State > ON".
5. Enable the signal output: "RF > ON".
6. On the connected signal analyzer, perform the required measurement tasks. Mea-
sure the frequency response at the outputs of the DUT.
To generate a single sideband test signal for testing the image rejection
If a single sideband test signal for testing the image rejection capabilities of DUT is
required, proceed as follows:
1. Connect the DUT to the output connectors of the instrument.
2. Connect a suitable measurement equipment, like signal analyzer to the DUT.
3. Select "Baseband > Multi-Carrier Continuous Wave".
Enable "No. of Carriers
=
81" and "Carrier Spacing
=
1
MHz".
4. Select "Multi-Carrier Continuous Wave > Carrier Table".
Set "Carrier Start
=
40", "Carrier Stop = 80", "Carrier State = Off".
Confirm with "Accept".
Open the "Multi-Carrier Continuous Wave > Carrier Graph" to visualize the config-
ured single sideband signal.
