S-Gamma Corrections
Using the complex reflection coefficient, you can determine the power P delivered by
the signal source with considerably greater accuracy.
The coefficient of the signal source
Γ
source
is defined by its magnitude and phase:
●
[SENSe<Sensor>:]SGAMma:MAGNitude
●
The complex reflection coefficient
Γ
sensor
of the sensor, which is also required for the
correction, is prestored in the calibration data memory for many frequencies.

Figure 9-3: Correction of interactions between the power sensor and the signal source
If the gamma correction is performed in combination with an S-parameter correction
(
[SENSe<Sensor>:]CORRection:SPDevice:STATe
ON
), the following is consid-
ered:
●
Interaction of the signal source with the S-parameter device
●
Input of the power sensor, depending on the transmission, expressed by the term
s

If the S-parameter correction is enabled, the interaction between the complex reflection
coefficient
Γ
sensor
of the power sensor and the reflection of port
2, expressed by
s
22
, is
always considered, regardless whether gamma correction is performed or not.
