2. Set the required "SCPI Raw Port" and "Hostname".
The R&S
NGP800 displays the on-screen keypad to enter the port number and
hostname.
● "SCPI Raw Port": A port number used to open a raw TCP/IP connection to
send raw SCPI commands to the instrument
● "Desired Hostname": The name assigned to the instrument used to identify it in
the network
● "DNS Hostname","mDNS Hostname" : The name assigned to the domain
name used to identify it in the network
When the connection is available, the network icon is highlighted in white on the device
status bar information.

LAN connection
The R&S
NGP800 is equipped with a network interface and can be connected to an
Ethernet LAN (local area network). A LAN connection is necessary for remote control
of the instrument, and for access from a computer using a web browser.
Risk of network failure
Before connecting the instrument to the network or configuring the network, consult
your network administrator. Errors may affect the entire network.
