Set Up the BIOS Settings and Desktop Icons

The following screen appears. Tap OK.

If you change the EWF status, then the MobileView 2711T terminal 
automatically restarts.

When the terminal desktop reappears, the EWF status icon on the 
terminal-desktop task bar is locked 

 to signify EWF is enabled.

FTView ME Station

FactoryTalk View Machine Edition (ME) Station software on your MobileView 
2711T terminal is dependent on a runtime application (MER) file that is 
configured on a separate personal computer with FactoryTalk® View Studio 
software installed.

Transfer the MER File With a USB Storage Device

The following section applies to MobileView terminals purchased before May 
2016, which use a USB storage device to transfer the runtime application (MER) 
file between your personal computer and the MobileView terminal. 

To initially configure FactoryTalk View ME Station, perform the following steps.

IMPORTANT

Rockwell Automation recommends that you only enable EWF after 
applications on the MobileView 2711T terminal such as FactoryTalk 
View Machine Edition (ME) have been set up. 

If you make application changes with EWF enabled, then those 
changes are lost when the MobileView 2711T terminal is powered 
down or rebooted.

ATTENTION: 

For MobileView 2711T terminals bought before May 2016, you 

must transfer the MER file with a USB storage device. 

For MobileView 2711T terminals bought as of May 2016, you can transfer the MER 
file through the Ethernet network.

For MobileView 2711T terminals bought before May 2016, a fix is available for the 
FactoryTalk View ME Station software so you can download MER files through the 
Ethernet network instead of a USB storage device. For more information, see 

FactoryTalk View ME Station Software Patch on page 64

.

IMPORTANT

EWF must disabled before you configure FTView ME settings, and then enabled 
afterwards. For more information, see 

Enhanced Write Filter (EWF) on page 57

.
