Chapter 3 Mechanical and Electrical Installation
Prepare Bay Interiors for
Installation
You must access the interior of each bay during product installation to
complete the following tasks:
•
Install hardware to join bays (applicable if the product is divided for
shipment)
•
Attach mounting hardware to the bay
•
Make electrical interconnections for control and power
To access bay interior components that are used during installation, you must
remove certain components from a bay. We recommend that you designate a
secure temporary storage area for components that need to be removed, so
that they can easily be reinstalled later. Remove these components using the
following procedure.
1. Use the double-bit key that is provided to open the bay doors.
2. Remove the protective touch guards from the bays. To remove the guards
from configured bays, see
Remove or Install Protective Touch Guards on
. To remove the guards from the drive bays, see the PowerFlex
750-Series Products with TotalFORCE® Control Installation Instructions,
publication
3. Remove any components from the drive that must be removed to
facilitate installation. For information on which components must be
removed from the drive bays, see the PowerFlex 750-Series Products with
TotalFORCE Control Installation Instructions, publication
.
None of the configured input bays or configured output bays require
components other than touch guards to be removed from inside of the
bay.
Do not reinstall the protective touch guards or other removed components
until mechanical connections, mounting, and electrical connections are
complete.
