Adding Expansion Modules
You can expend the capacity of an Enterprise NetProfiler by adding Expansion Modules to your existing system.
You can add up to 19 Expansion Modules to each NetProfiler. If your system includes more than six Expansion
Modules, you must install a Dispatcher Module before you can install additional Expansion Modules.
Important:
The new Expansion Modules and Dispatcher Modules must run the same version of the software as the rest of the
system.
The Dispatcher Module installation uses the same .iso file as the Expansion Modules, therefore, the installation
procedure is identical for when entering the product code in the setup wizard. After you install the Dispatcher Module,
you can continue to install the remaining Expansion Modules.
Important:
Before you begin this process, you must identify the currently installed software version.
Thesoftware version is
listed on the “About” page. Pull down the Help menu in the upper right corner of the NetProfiler user interface page
and click About to open the page.
Follow these steps
:
1.
Open a terminal emulator and SSH to the CLI of the Base Module.
2.
Log in using the mazu account.
3.
Create a directory to contain the software image, by running the following command
sudo mkdir /mnt/spare/install
This specific name is required.
4.
Navigate to support.riverbed.com and select Software & Documentation, SteelCentral Network Performance
Management, SteelCentral NetProfiler.
5.
Display the page for the version of the software your NetProfiler is running.
6.
Choose SteelCentral Install (ISO Image) and enter your credentials when prompted.
7.
Place the installation file in the installation directory
