TABLE OF CONTENTS
INTRODUCTION
Read this entire manual before installing any WHEEL-LOK
™
restraint.
The WHEEL-LOK
™
restraint by RITE-HITE Corporation is a unique concept in dock safety equipment. It is intended to
provide a safer work place for workers in shipping and receiving dock areas. The WHEEL-LOK
™
is an
electromechanical restraint device that, when properly installed and operated, retains a solid connection between the
truck/trailer and dock. A screw drive system moves a sled into a locking position in front of the truck/trailer tires. A
positive lock is generated when the sled base wedges between the tires and pavement, opening wheel barriers. Signal
lights, a warning horn, and signs provide instructions to the truck driver and WHEEL-LOK
™
operator to indicate
whether a safe condition exists. A second warning horn provides a warning to ground personnel that the sled is in
motion. The WHEEL-LOK
™
system is operated from an inside control panel by pressing a control box button.
