3.
Drill all remaining holes into the driveway, using the
track mounting holes as a template, beginning with
those closest to the Idle End Mounting Plate. Insert
the anchors one at a time, tapping each into the
drilled holes with a hammer so that the head of the
anchor is as close to the metal plate as possible.
4.
It is possible that changes to the slope of the
driveway may cause the track to not rest completely
flat against the driveway. As long as the change in
slope is not greater than 1/2" over 1 foot, this
should not cause a problem. However, if the two
concrete anchors closest to the motor assembly do
not rest flat against the driveway, shims may be
added under the track mounting plate. This is the
only mounting point that may be shimmed. See
Figure 4.
NOTE
If the approach to the loading dock is inclined or declined,
the WHEEL-LOK
™
restraint can still be used effectively.
The WHEEL-LOK
™
restraint has been designed to flex a
maximum of 1/2" per foot of the track assembly.
Any installed shims must be made of steel and
should not extend out past the edges of the
mounting plate. This may cause interference with
the sled during operation. After placing the correct
amount of shim under the mounting plate, mark
holes on the shims using the mounting plate holes
as a template. Burn out hole material and
reposition shims. Insert the concrete anchors and
tap into position with a hammer.
5.
After all concrete anchors have been inserted,
tighten each to 175 ft. lbs. of torque. It is best to
start at one end of the track and tighten anchors
sequentially toward the other end.
6.
A slight bending of the anchor tabs will not
adversely affect the operation of the unit.
Sled Attachment
1.
Remove and properly dispose of packaging wood
and shipping straps from the sled.
2.
Position the sled over the end of the track such
that the drag link aligns with the trolley in the track
assembly. A fork lift or boom truck should be used
to position the sled. See Figure 5. Use caution to
avoid bending the lever arm.
3.
Insert the pin provided to connect the trolley and
sled. Insert and expand cotter pin. See Figure 5.
4.
Connect the sled chain to the trolley switching
lever with the chain connector link provided. Make
sure the chain is not twisted! Close and secure the
nut on the connector link.
8
IMPORTANT
Only shim at the mounting plate closest to the
motor assembly. This length of track is not as
flexible as the rest and, therefore, must be
shimmed if there is too much space between the
track and the surface of the driveway.
