Disconnect power supply and protect the PC board to ensure it cannot get wet during
service

Using a digital manometer, check incoming gas pressure at the gas regulator

Using a digital manometer, check pressure at bottom of gas valve
4
p
Check gas line size & length, ensuring it is adequately sized
5
p
Isolate & drain the boiler, check the expansion tank pressure is correct for the
system

p
Check that the Pressure Relief Valve is properly oriented in a vertical position beneath
the boiler
7
p
Check the water domestic inlet screen, clean if necessary
8
p
Check the water inlet filter screen in the inlet manifold, clean if necessary
9
p
Check the Central Heating return filter screen, clean if necessary
10
p
Check venting type, length, installation, condition & screens; clean if necessary.

Venting should be pitched towards the boiler to allow condensate to drain
12
p
Verify that the vent is not obstructed
13
p
Remove the combustion chamber cover, inspect and clean the heat exchanger, if
necessary

p
Observe the condition of the rear blast board, replace if cracked or damaged
15
p
Verify spark gaps and condition of ignition electrode & flame sensor, clean or replace
if necessary

p
Check the condition of the burner, ensure that it is not loose; clean if necessary
17
p
Check the boiler condensate trap, remove and clean if needed – re-prime trap

p
Refill the boiler and purge all air from system

p
Power boiler back on

Verify the polarity and ground of the power supply (L-N=120v, L-G=0v, N-G=0v)

Check incoming power to spark generator - 120 vac

p
Verify the unit is set for the proper gas by accessing the "Gas Type" parameter on the
boilers front screen

Perform a combustion check per section 10.16 - Combustion Analysis in the
Installation & Operation Instructions For Contractors using a combustion analyzer.
Ensure the CO2% and CO ppm are within the acceptable limits given in the IOM and
by local codes.

Ensure the CH and DHW temperature setpoints are set correctly

DANGER: All seals, gaskets, O-rings and washers that are disturbed during maintenance must be replaced. If any
portion of the venting system is distrubed, it must be re-installed in accordance to the vent manufacturer’s
instructions, the Riello Installation & Operation Instructions For Contractors and any applicable provisions of
local building codes as well as the National Fuel Gas Code ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54 and/or CAN/CSA B149.1, Natural
Gas and Propane Installation Code. Failure to do so may result in substantial property damage, severe injury
or death.
