Note:

Not all printers report all these conditions. For example, most printers do

not report the Warning conditions.

The same condition can be reported with a different severity depending on the
situation. For example, a printer might report an input tray empty condition as an
error or a warning. It could be a warning if the printer had multiple input trays
linked together with the same media and only one of them is empty. If a condition
is reported as an error, InfoPrint Manager reports these conditions as
needs-key-operator as opposed to needs-attention:

Regardless of the severity, InfoPrint Manager lists all conditions on the

snmp-device-conditions

attribute.

Accessing device information

You can use the InfoPrint Manager Administration GUI or the

pdls

command to

access information about SNMP devices.

Besides providing information about the actual destination object, InfoPrint
Manager allows you to access information directly from the printer. InfoPrint
Manager uses device-specific attributes to provide this function. While
device-specific actual destination attributes are accessed through an actual
destination, the information comes from the physical printer. The device-specific
attributes are not returned when you ask for all the actual destination’s attributes.
You have to request the device-specific attributes specifically or you can use

all-device

to query all the device-specific attributes.
