6.12.6 GAP ADJUSTMENT BETWEEN PAPER PICK-OFF PLATE

AND PRESSURE CYLINDER

PURPOSE: To ensure smooth paper feed to the paper delivery unit

1. Remove the drum.

2. Apply the printing pressure as follows. (Push the pressure cylinder up to the

printing position.)

1) Access SP 5-121, and select “ON” for the printing pressure release solenoid.
2) While the solenoid is on, turn the cylinder half way round by hand.
3) Leave SP mode.

3. Adjust the clearance between the paper pick-off plate [A] and the surface of the

pressure cylinder until it is 1 ± 0.3 mm (loosen the 4 screws).

CAUTION: Be sure to perform this adjustment after pushing the pressure cylinder

up to the printing position. If the gap is adjusted with the pressure
cylinder in the non-printing position, the paper pick-off plate will
damage the pressure cylinder when the printing pressure is applied
and the pressure cylinder is pushed up, because the gap will be too
small.
