10.2 Automatic Plug & Play Installation
You can install the printer driver on Windows machines easily using the Plug & Play automatic identification
function.
Note: If the "Plug & Play" function is not started or the Device Driver Wizard dialog box is displayed,
click the [Cancel] button and install the printer driver from add printer of printers folder
10.2.1 Windows 98/Me
There are some different operations according to the version of Operating System. Here, we show the
operation in case of Windows 98 as follows.
Installation Steps
Before installation
Before starting to install the printer driver, check to make sure the following:
Power to the printer main unit is off.
The PC is on.
The printer and the PC are properly connected through a USB cable.

Turn on the power to the printer.
Windows 98/Me recognizes new hardware and starts a wizard to set up the printer
driver.

When the "Add New Hardware Wizard" window appears, click the [Next]
button.

Select "Search for the best driver for your device. (Recommended)." And click
the [Next] button.
(1) Select this.
(2) Click [Next].
