Transportation and storage
The pump or pump unit must be
transported properly. Ensure that the
pump/unit remains in a horizontal po-
sition during transportation and does
not slip out of the transport rigging.
A pump or the motor can be attached to the crane
hook eye provided for this purpose.
The transport rigging is not suitable for a complete
unit, i.e. pump with base plate and motor.
In this case, observe the rope attachment points
on the base plate. See
Figure 1
.
Do
not
attach the sling ropes to exposed shaft
ends or to the eyebolt of the motor.
Figure 1
Check the delivery for completeness and
transport damage immediately after receipt.
Do not install damaged pumps in the system.
When unpacking single parts of mag-
netic couplings, the corresponding in-
structions in
section 7.5.2
must be
observed.
Handle the goods to be transported with care to
prevent damage.
Flange covers serve as transport protection and
must not be removed.
If the unit is not installed immediately after deliv-
ery, store it properly.
Store the pumps in a dry and vibration-free, well-
ventilated room at as constant a temperature as
possible.
Elastomers must be protected against UV
radiation.
As a general rule, do not exceed a storage period
of 10 years. For elastomer made of NBR, the per-
missible storage period is 4 years.
When storing the single parts of mag-
netic couplings, the corresponding in-
structions in
section 7.5.2
must be
observed.
In case of extended storage, preservation may be
required on machined component surfaces and
packaging with moisture protection.
3.1 Returns
Pumps that have carried aggressive
or toxic media must be well flushed
and cleaned before returning them to
the manufacturer.
It is
mandatory
to include
safety information / a
safety compliance declaration
regarding the
site of application with the return.
Forms are enclosed with the installation and oper-
ating instructions.
Safety
precautions
and
decontamination
measures must be given.
3.2 Disposal
Parts of the pump might be contaminated with a
medium that is harmful to health and the environ-
ment, meaning that cleaning is not sufficient.
Danger to persons or the environment
from the medium or oil!
♦
Wear protective clothing when work is being
done on the pump.
♦
Before disposing of the pump:
♦
Collect leaking medium, oil, etc., and dis-
pose of it in accordance with the local reg-
ulations.
♦
Neutralize any medium residues in the
pump.
♦
Separate the pump materials (plastics, metals,
etc.) and dispose of them in accordance with
the local regulations.
