2.2 Danger
In operation, pumps have hazardous, live and rotating parts, and possibly also hot surfaces. All
operations serving transport, connection, commissioning and regular maintenance are to be carried
out by qualified, responsible technical personnel. (Observe VDE 0105; IEC 364.) Improper conduct
can cause severe personal injury and damage to property. The applicable national, local and plant-
specific specifications and codes of conduct must be complied with. The warning and instruction
plates on the pump must be complied with.
2.3 Intended use
These pumps are plastic-lined chemical centrifugal pumps. The technical specifications correspond
to ISO 15783, DIN ISO 5199, ASME B73.1 and ASME B73.3, the connecting dimensions ISO
2858 / DIN EN 22858; Flange versions see data sheet. Using the unit in potentially explosive area
is allowed, if special attention is paid to the sections in this operationg manual marked with "Ex".
The conditions at the site of operation have to correspond to all data sheet data. Pumps are com-
ponents to install in machines according to machine directive 2006/42/EG. Commissioning is for-
bidden until the conformity of the end product with the directive is determined (pay attention to EN
60204-1 amongst others).
2.4 Transport, storage
Report damages determined after delivery to the forwarder; if necessary exclude commissioning.
For transport use the designated openings, lifting eyes, etc. Tighten screwed eyebolts firmly. Do
not mount additional loads, observe load capacity of the lifting equipment. Remove and store trans-
port locking devices before commissioning. If pumps are stored, ensure a dry, dust-free and low-
vibration environment (bearing standstill damage).
