Rice Lake Adult & Child Scale
Model D400 Operation
The Rice Lake Adult and Child Scale takes the traditional home health scale to a new level by accurately weighing
a child while the child is being held. The scale is powered by battery or AC adapter.

To prevent personal injury to the user and damage to the scale, ensure all users read and understand the
following statements.
• Do not attempt to transport the scale while someone is standing on it.
• Do not drop the scale or subject it to violent shocks.
• For accurate weighing, the scale must be placed on a flat, stable surface, avoiding carpeted areas.
• Weight exceeding the maximum capacity (440 lb/200 kg) may damage the scale.
• The scale is not waterproof; avoid contact with excessive moisture.
• Never place the scale close to heat-radiating appliances.
• The scale is not intended for use by individuals with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual
abilities or deficiencies in experience/knowledge unless supervised by a person responsible for their
safety.

Scale Setup
1. Remove the pre-assembled scale from its packaging.
2. Place the scale on a flat, firm surface. Ensure that the floor surface is free
from moisture to avoid the possibility of slipping.
3. Plug in the AC power adapter or insert the four AA batteries into unit.
4. Toggle to kilogram (KG) or pounds (LB) switch located on the bottom of the unit.

5. Use the
POWER ON/OFF
toggle switch located on the underside of the scale to activate the scale.
