OUTLET TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION ADJUSTMENT
The maximum outlet temperature from the tempered water outlet may be adjusted to compensate for
temperature losses in the pipe work between the water heater outlet and sanitary fixtures. This adjustment
may only be made by a plumber.
Warning:
After adjustment of the tempering valve, the water temperature
MUST NOT
exceed 50°C from
the first tap in the hot water pipe work after the water heater used for personal hygiene purposes, such as in a
bathroom or ensuite.
To adjust the maximum outlet temperature:
Ensure the preset outlet temperature setting of the in-series gas booster has been set to 70°C and the
gas booster is turned on.
Locate the first hot tap in the hot water pipe work after the water heater used for personal hygiene
purposes.
Turn on the hot tap fully to achieve maximum flow. A flow rate of at least four (4) L / min is recommended.
Using a thermometer, measure the temperature of the water from the tap, until the temperature stops
increasing. Allow at least one (1) minute to ensure the mixed water temperature has settled.
If the water temperature is below 50°C the maximum outlet temperature of the 50°C limited outlet can be
adjusted upwards.
Remove the cap from the tempering valve to gain access to the adjusting spindle.
Turn the spindle on the temperature limiting valve counter-clockwise.
Turning the spindle counter-clockwise increases the outlet water temperature, turning it clockwise
decreases the outlet water temperature.
Repeat the water temperature measurement from the same hot tap.
Further adjust the temperature limiting valve as required, turning the spindle either counter-clockwise or
clockwise to increase or decrease the outlet water temperature, until an acceptable water temperature not
exceeding 50°C is measured at the same hot tap.
Turn off the hot tap.
Snap the cap back onto the tempering valve to cover the spindle.
