position.
Ignition Module (Procedure 4)
Note:
The ignition rod and flame sensor leads are supplied adhered to the ignition module
and should not be removed.
1.
Isolate water supply to heater by closing cold water inlet isolation valve located
below heater.
2. Remove front panel by following steps 1 ~ 2 of procedure 1.
3. Disconnect high tension lead from ignition rod by pulling lead away from ignition rod.
4. Disconnect high tension lead from flame sensor by pulling lead away from flame
sensor.
5. Remove single Phillips head screw retaining ignition module mounting bracket to heat
shield, push front of bracket to the right and slide bracket complete with ignition
module out of heat shield.
6. Unplug wiring plug from ignition module.
7. Remove two Phillips head screws retaining ignition module to ignition module
mounting bracket and remove ignition module from bracket.
8. Reassemble in reverse order of above.
Note:
When reconnecting ignition module
leads, ensure top ignition module lead connects to ignition rod and bottom ignition
module lead connects to flame rod.
Pilot Assembly (Procedure 5)
The pilot assembly is comprised of pilot injector, pilot, ignition rod, flame sensor and
mounting bracket. Note: To only remove pilot injector, refer to procedure 6.
1.
Isolate water supply to heater by closing cold water inlet isolation valve located
below heater.
2.
Isolate gas supply to heater by closing gas isolation valve located below heater.
3. Remove front panel by following steps 1 ~ 2 of procedure 1.
4. Remove two Phillips head screws retaining pilot shield and remove pilot shield.
5. Disconnect high tension lead from ignition rod by pulling lead away from ignition rod.
6. Disconnect high tension lead from flame sensor by pulling lead away from flame
sensor.
7. Using a 9 mm spanner, hold pilot injector and remove pilot feed pipe olive using an 8
mm spanner.
8. Gently pull pilot feed pipe out from pilot assembly.
9. Remove two Phillips head screws retaining pilot assembly mounting bracket and
remove pilot assembly complete with mounting bracket and metal spacer.
10. Reassemble in reverse order of above.
Note:
When reconnecting ignition module
leads, ensure top ignition module lead connects to ignition rod and bottom ignition
module lead connects to flame rod.
11. Start heater and check for gas leaks using a soapy water solution.
