STAB+PRED:

Pitch is stabilized using an extrapolation of recent history

values from the motion sensor. This is the preferred operating condition.
A faster baud rate from the motion sensor usually provides a smoother
extrapolation.

NOTE

Pitch Values from an external motion sensor are required to implement this
functionality.

Set Roll Stabilization (RollStab)

As with the projector (see

section

5.9.8.6 Set Pitch Stabilization (PitchStab)

), the

received beams can be dynamically steered to keep the nadir beam of the swath
vertical. This process acts to keep the bottom display stable as the vessel rolls.
Because of the effect on the outer beams of the swath, Roll Stabilization is
limited to a practical value of



The RollStab menu option allows for the selection of Roll Stabilization options.



OFF:

Roll Stabilization is not used.



STAB:

Roll is stabilized using the most recent value from the Motion

Sensor.



STAB+PRED:

Roll is stabilized using an extrapolation of recent history

values from the motion sensor. This is the preferred operating condition.
A faster baud rate from the motion sensor usually provides a smoother

5.9.9 Reset the System (Reset Button)

Click this button to reboot the firmware in the sonar processor and initiate the
calibration routine.

5.9.10 Calibrate the System (Calib Button)

Initiate the process which calibrates the electronics associated with each of the
ceramic elements that constitute the receiver array.
