16. Messages
In the case of an error, a message will appear in the sta-
tus display and the display illumination will start fl ashing.
Warning and error messages are marked by a
triangle
in the status display.
If more than one error or fault condition has occured, only
the one with the highest priority will be displayed as a mes-
sage in the status display. All other messages will be listed
in the status menu (see chap. 15.1).
The status is displayed graphically by means of a smiley. The
different smiley faces have the following meanings:
Below the display of “Warning” or “Error” the correspon-
ding message is displayed (see fi gure to the left).
In the case of an error or the warning messages “ Leakage”
or “Overpressure”, the system is shut down until the fault
condition is eliminated. During the shutdown, “Inhibi-
tion” is displayed above the store symbol in the system
display. As soon as the cause for the message has been
eliminated, the inhibition ends and the message disappears
(except for the “Flow rate?” message, see chap. 16.1).

The controller is equipped with a range of monitoring func-
tions for the detection and diagnosis of errors and fault con-
ditions. The monitoring functions will generate a warning or
error message as soon as their respective monitoring criteria
are fulfi lled. As soon as the fault condition has been eliminated,
the message will be automatically acknowledged and disappear
(except for the “Flow rate?” message, see ch. 16.1).
16.1 Permanent monitoring functions
The permanent monitoring functions are permanently active
and can neither be altered nor deactivated by the user.
Message: “T-Fl defect” / “T-Re defect”
Defects of the digital sensors are displayed as an error
message in the status display.
Additionally, the message “Defect” appears instead of the
measured temperature at the corresponding place in the
system display.
A defect of one or both digital sensors will lead to a system
shutdown. Above the store symbol in the system display,
“Inhibition” is displayed (see page 21).
If a sensor defect occurs, proceed as follows:
Î
Check and, if necessary, correct the connection of the
sensor plugs
Î
If the error message does not disappear, the sensor
has to be replaced
The error message disappears automatically as soon as
valid data are received from the corresponding sensor.
Normal operation recommences with a pause.

Note:
Defects of the optional Pt1000 temperature
sensors are not displayed in the system dis-
play. A short-circuit (“short”) or line break
(“ broken”) at a Pt1000 sensor will only be dis-
played in the status menu.
“broken” will also be displayed if no sensor is
connected to thecorresponding terminal.
