-
mitted due to safety and approval reasons (CE). Do not disassemble the
product.
• Have maintenance and repairs done by qualified personnel only.
• Do not leave packaging material unattended, as children could use it as a
toy creating hazardous situations.
b) Power adapter
• The power adapter features a protection class II design. Only use a proper
wall socket as voltage source for the power adapter.
Connect the power adapter to a wall socket that can be accessed easily.
• Only use the included power adapter as voltage source for the USB hub.
• Never pull the cable when disconnecting the power adapter from the wall
socket. Hold the power adapter at the sides of the enclosure and then pull
it from the wall socket.
• If the power adapter is damaged, do not touch it. There is a risk of fatal
electric shock!
First disconnect the mains voltage supplying the wall socket to which the
power adapter is connected (turn off the respective circuit breaker or re-
move the fuse, then turn off the ground fault circuit interrupter in order to
disconnect all poles of the wall socket from the mains voltage).
Only then disconnect the power adapter from the wall socket. Dispose of
the damaged power adapter properly. Do not use it anymore. Replace it
with a power adapter of identical construction.

You can also use a piece of double-sided adhesive to fasten the product to the top of
your desk to prevent it from slipping.
Connection and operation
• Connect the power adapter‘s low-voltage plug to the corresponding socket on the
USB hub.
• Plug the power adapter into a wall socket, the power LED on the USB hub lights
up.
• Use the USB cable provided to connect the USB hub to a free USB 3.0 port on your
computer. You need not turn off your computer for this step.
The operating system recognizes new hardware and installs the necessary drivers
automatically; they are part of the operating system.
• Connect your USB devices to the USB ports on front of the USB hub.
You can also connect and operate USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices from the
USB hub.
• You can switch power to each USB port on and off using the corresponding switch
(„I“ = on, „O“ = off).
Make sure that there is no active data transfer before using the switch. Fai-
lure to follow this warning may result in data loss!
Depending on the USB device, the operating system recognizes new hardware and
installs any necessary drivers. Read the your USB device‘s operating instructions
for information on how to proceed.
Your operating system (e.g. Windows) uses its own drivers to operate USB devices
(e.g. USB sticks, USB mice, etc.).
Important!
According to the USB 3.0 Standard, a USB 3.0 port supplies a current of
900 mA (e.g. the USB 3.0 port on your computer).
However, many USB 3.0 devices require much less power, e.g. USB sticks.
Other USB 3.0 devices have a separate power adapter as power supply (e.g.
large USB 3.0 hard drives).
The included power adapter supplies an output current of 4 A. For this re-
ason, not all 7 USB 3.0 ports on the USB hub can supply 900 mA.
