MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR WOOD SCREEN DOOR APPLICATIONS
Tools required:
Tape measure, Drill, drill bits, Philips screwdriver, Pencil, T Square, Chisel.
Note:
This lock is non-handed. Refer to drawing for orientation based on door handing.
Installing the mortise lock
1. Refer to the template and cut a mortise pocket into door edge for lock body.
2. Refer to template and mark and drill screw holes in face of door.
3. Install lock body into the door and supply with supplied wood screws.
4. Insert spindle into interior knob, then through the mortise lock and place the exterior trim on the door and
secure with supplied machine screws.
Proceed with installing strike after the door set is installed on door.
1. To transfer the proper position to the door jamb, mark the mortise lock by rubbing graphite, crayon or lipstick
onto the latch and deadbolt of the mortise lock.
2. Close the door and turn the thumb-turn to activate the deadbolt several times, leaving a faint (graphite, crayon or
lipstick) mark on the door frame.
3. The resulting marks will give centering positions for the strike.
4. Mortise a deep pocket for the dust box and a shallow pocket for the strike faceplate.
5. Install the dust box and faceplate and faceplate with supplied screws.
